10 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD BAN PLASTIC BAGS.

1. Plastic bags pollute our land and water.  Because they are so lightweight, plastic bags can travel long distances by wind and water. They litter our landscapes, get caught in fences and trees, float around in waterways, and can eventually make their way into the world’s oceans. 2. Plastic bags are made from non-renewable resources and contribute to climate change.  The majority of plastic bags are made of polypropylene, a material that is made from petroleum and natural gas. Both of these materials are non-renewable fossil fuel-based resources and through their extraction and production, they create greenhouse gases, which contribute to  global climate change . The production of these bags is also very energy intensive. To produce nine plastic bags, it takes the equivalent energy to drive a car one kilometer (more than 0.5 miles). Using these non-renewable resources to make plastic bags is very short-sighted, considering that the typical useful lif...

In the previous entry, we talked about the benefits of banning plastic bags, this time we are going to talk about how we felt when we saw our environment filled with plastics and other garbage.  First let me tell you something, people tend to throw away their garbage everywhere because they don't care and they have no fear that the environment would be destroyed [realtalk]. It offers a wide range of uses; from carrying stuff to water-proofing them, but did you know that plastic bags is one major factor in heavy flooding and air pollution? Yes, plastic bags are really harmful to our environment, from manufacturing to selling and consuming. They are made from non-renewable resources and they do not decompose by themselves.  They can destroy our ozone layer which can contribute more to major climate change. Plastic bags are indeed useful, but when used in the wrong way, it can lead to dramatic problems and changes in the world. We think that one possible way to make our Earth better is to ban plastic bags. Banning plastic bags can contribute big-time to our environment; we can avoid disasters from happening such as flash floods, fires, and ts...
